I'm Baaacckkkk!!!!!!!!

I made it back from vacation, but just barely. We tried to leave last Wednesday, but with all the fog we were stuck at the airport. We got up at 3 am, left for the airport at 5am, because our flight was at 7am, but we tried to leave on 4 different flights and finally left the airport on a flight to Miami at 1:30. When we arrived in Miami, we had to get on the escalator to get to the shuttle bus area and my hubbys' luggage got stuck on the escalator, but I was already on the escalator behind his bag, which means I fell over the bag and on to the escalator. Which left some nice knots and bruises on my legs. We get a shuttle to the hotel and when we get there I look at my hubby and demand a drink NOW!!!!!! We go to the hotel bar and order drinks and nachos, which the bartender proceeds to dump the guacamole in my lap. That is the first 22 hour day. We arrive the next evening and am just exhausted. I went horseback riding on Friday which was just an exercise in hanging on. On saturday they had the awards ceremony and dinner, we finished dinner and tried to head back to the room. It was pouring down rain so we tried to walk to our room inside the hotel, but we got lost and had to ask for help, which the security guard was glad to provide. As we were going at top speed to the room I came around a corner and hit a puddle of water and wiped out big time. I think next time I might just stay at home.

The rest of the trip was wonderful and the hotel and weather was gorgeous. I will post pictures soon. But for right now I think I will just sit in my chair and try to recover from my vacation.

VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!

We finally leave in the morning for the Dominican Republic. I hope we do not over sleep, but if you are anything like me, I won't be able to sleep tonight so we will get up on time. That means we will be up at around 3:00 am. Our flight leaves at 7:00 so we have to be at the airport around 5. Then we fly to Philly and on to the Dominican Republic. I will not be posting until we get back and that will be sometime on Sunday or Monday. So everybody have a great week!

FUUUUNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had 12" of snow, boy did that make the hubby happy!!!!! He had a ball, for 2 days at least. He was outside at least 10 hours every day digging everybody out with the ATV. I hope that is the last of the snow, but you never know about Ohio in February, especially since we had such nice weather all of December and January. I know the people in upstate New York had it way worse then we did, but I think is you live up there you kind of expect the snow to be that bad.

I leave next Wednesday for the Dominican Republic for 5 days. I can't wait, after all the snow and the head cold I am ready to be some place warm. Of course I will be spending most of my time by the pool. I hope to just lounge around and read most of the day. I will have pictures when I get back and hopefully I can load them on to the new computer. I will be busy getting ready for vacation, there is a lot of things that need to be done before I go, so if I don't have time I will catch you when I get back.

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hubby is so excited, we are supposed to have a foot or better of snow, and I know for some of you that isn't much, but that is the most we have had at one time this year. He just can't wait to get outside and play. I like to sit in the house on the stairs and watch the snow just blow all around the house outside. I kind of like being stuck in the house, so that the outside world doesn't vie so much for your time and energy. I am finally feeling better and am able to get some things done. Now the daughter has strep and is home for the next couple of days. She got sick at the end of last week and finally had to be forced to go to the doctors' on Sunday. I told her we are getting ready to go on vacation and if I get sick again I am going to be really mad.

They came and measured for our kitchen counter yesterday, so hopefully we will be able to get that installed as soon as we get back. We should have the estimate by Wednesday. I will be glad when that happens it will be like a new kitchen.

Well I will let you know how much snow we finally get and when we will get the kitchen done.

BLAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been sick all week with a horrible head cold that I can't seem to get rid of, even though I would like to. I have spent much of the week on the couch and today was the first day I have really been able to do anything around the house. I am paying for that now, I am exhausted and feel absolutely yucky. I did go to town with the hubby earlier to order new countertop for the kitchen, because we bought a new sink and that would not go with the countertop we had. It should be installed in a couple of weeks, they are coming to measure on Monday. Well that is why I haven't posted this week, I hope I feel better soon. I will let you know when that is, hopefully before vacation.

Hi!!!!!! I'm back and boy was it cold in Kalamazoo. We had to leave there pretty quickly because of the blizzard they were expecting the day we were leaving. They already had 4-6 inches of snow and were expecting that much more and 30 mph winds. It snowed on and off the whole time we were there. Not to mention all the little kids who were staying at the hotel courtesy of the hockey team and the room next to ours was party central. They also made sure they were constantly yelling and running up and down the hall until after 11 every night. They also tore the rope divider out of the pool. All of this while the parents were "watching" them. I just don't understand how people let their kids go to these things with "chaperone's" that never really watch them. Plus we stayed at the Holiday Inn in Dundee at Cabela's. That was a real treat with the temp below 0, when we got up in the morning and had no hot water for a shower, even though we called the front desk.
Other than those things we had a pretty good time and were able to get in the pool and work out. I even finished a cross stitch I had been working on for awhile, so that made me feel good. I did get to relax quite a bit and destress. I am glad to be home though and now comes the laundry. About 5 tons of it, I think. I will write in a couple of days when I resurface from the laundry and cleaning the house and running errands.
