Memorial Day

I will take extra time today to say a special prayer for all those still serving our country and for all the families who have lost a loved one. I pray that all of you will do the same. Today and everyday we should remember those who are fighting and those who have fought for our freedoms. For we truly have more freedoms than any other country. I know that all of you that I blog with are mostly military families and that this day has a great significance for you as it does for me.

I am happy that Michelle is home and that she doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon. I also know that some of you will be going through deployment again in the near future and I pray that your soldiers will return to you, just as they left.

But I think Memorial day will always be a day of thanks for me. To Gavin James Colburn for keeping Michelle safe and sending her home to her family. I know that we will see you in heaven someday and we will all get to thank you personally. But until then we will keep you memory alive not just today but always.
So take sometime today to remember all of our heroes of freedom past and present.
Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!

Not much excitement here lately. I have been in a funk the last couple of days and I just don't know what has brought this on, but I wish it would go away. It has probably just been all the stuff with my parents and sister that has finally caught up with me. I hope that is all, I have had these before and usually they just last for a day or so, but this one has lasted for about 3 days now. I think that I just need a break from all this craziness. We will be going camping soon and that will definitely pick me up. I really like to camp. It is just so relaxing, we love to sit by the fire and roast marshmallows and just genuinely leave the world behind.

I bought some flowers to pot up around the house. The weather is supposed to be nice this week, so hopefully I can get that done and the house will be set outside for the summer. I really enjoy yard work, but we have such a small yard I have to settle for putting everything in pots.
Well I will sign off for now.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you all had a Happy Mother's day. Everybody was here and we had a big cookout. We had beer butt chicken, baked beans, potato salad and cornbread corn. Everything was really good.

The kids got me the greatest present, the girls got their picture taken just like an old one we had here from 10 years ago, with just the 3 of them and then they had the grandkids picture taken together and then all 6 together, that was the best present ever. They all came over right after church and the last ones left around 7. It was a great day and hopefully everyone had a good time. I was trying to remember the last time we were all together and I guess that would have to be a round Christmas. I'm glad we were all here.

Have a great Day!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that I promised an update on my mom, so here it goes. She had her surgery yesterday at 8:30am, she was in recovery until about 2pm. She came through the surgery just fine, when she got back to her room she had no pain at all. The blood pressure was high, but that seems just to be a side effect of the anesthesia, because it is back down today. The hospital said she was doing good today, she walked down the hall with no walker and no pain, just like normal. They also said that she will probably go home and not back to the nursing home. I am waiting for them to call me and let me know if she got home. I couldn't go to the hospital today, I had too much to do here, because I have the bubby tonight because mom and dad have drill this weekend. It seems though that mom has some lingering memory problems, which I feel is the onset of dementia or Alzheimer's, something my dad and sister do not want to admit. I'm sure this will be an ongoing thing and something we will have to deal with soon. So things are progressing really well, but like I said there will probably be somethings we will have to deal with in the near future. Thanks for all the prayers, they are greatly appreciated.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!
